Creating a Syllabus
  • Go to Content Area/Folder
  • Click Build Content tab
  • Click Syllabus
  • Name Syllabus
  • Select Create New Syllabus
  • Click Submit
  • Fill in name and other necessary information
    • There are three premade body areas: Description, Learning Objectives, and Required Materials
  • Select any Advanced Options
  • Select Yes by Permit users to View this Content
  • Select any Standard Options
  • Click Submit
  • Click Submit
Note: you should also include a downloadable version for your students, using the File or Item tool.


Creating a Lesson
  • Go to Syllabus main page (if following the directions above, you’re already there. If not click on the Syllabus’ name)
  • Click Add Lesson
  • Fill in name and other necessary information
  • Click Submit


Deleting a Lesson
  • Go to Syllabus main page (if following the directions above, you’re already there. If not click on the Syllabus’ name)
  • Select Lesson(s)
  • Click Delete Lesson


Adding a Syllabus from a Previous Course
This brings over the content that was created in a previous course. You can edit the content that is brought over with the Context Menu.
  • Go to where the syllabus is hosted
  • Mouse over the syllabus’ name
  • Click the arrow next to the name to open the Context Menu
  • Click Copy
  • Select Destination Course
  • Click Browse to choose the Destination Folder within the Destination Course
  • Click Submit


Deleting a Syllabus
  • Mouse over the name of the Syllabus
  • Click the arrow next to the name to open the Context Menu
  • Click Delete
  • Click OK


Advanced Options

Syllabus Design:
Styles: Document Image, Notepad, Modern, Classic, Contemporary, None
Colors: Change the colors of the headers and borders, and the text

Build Lesson:
Lesson Shells: These divide the content into shells. Lesson shells may be built based on the number of scheduled meetings in the Syllabus duration or based on a specified number.
